Windows Vista Service Pack 2 should be coming as part of normal updates. You can go here for more details. This is a large update and may take some time to download and install.

I keep getting asked when Windows 7 is coming out. The official response from Microsoft from their website is this.

If you “Purchase a qualifying version* of a Windows Vista retail packaged product from your favorite retailer between June 26, 2009 and January 31, 2010.” you can sign up to get a free upgrade to Windows 7. Sorry but older Vista users will not qualify for this upgrade.
